Al Morris granted Life Member of Marine Rescue NSW
On Saturday 26 November at the Annual General Meeting of Marine Rescue NSW (MRNSW) held at the headquarters premises at North Cronulla, MR Central Coast skipper, Al Morris of Daleys Point, was appointed a life member of MRNSW.
The presentation of life membership was made by MRNSW Chairman, James Glissan ESM, QC.
Al Morris has been a member of Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol (RVCP), now MR Central Coast , since September 1989. He has been an operational rescue skipper since 1991. He was appointed Division Commander of Central Coast Unit in 1996 and served a two-year term. He undertook responsibility for compiling the NSW statistics for RVCP and continued in that role when MRNSW was formed. In December 2005 Al received the National Medal for 15-years community service and received a clasp for the medal in April 2016 recognising a further 10-years contribution.
Al was joined at the AGM presentation ceremony by his wife Judith and six members of MR Central Coast including Unit Commander Roger Palmer and MRNSW Director Patricia Fayers ESM.
