Almost lost in the dark
The volunteers on duty at Marine Rescue Central Coast received a call for help well after 4:30pm on Sunday afternoon. A family of six, 2 adults and four children onboard their 5.0m Bowrider Runabout sought assistance. They indicated they were in Lintern Channel, just north of Cockle Creek and had run out of fuel. Darkness was beginning to set-in.
The duty crew on rescue vessel Central Coast CC021, Anthony Porter, Ian Radford and Bob Sullivan, were tasked to assist. In the failing light, the Bowrider was located and towed to the ramp at Koolewong. The rescue crew arrived back at the base in darkness
