Two Late Assists on Weekend.
On Saturday 28 February at radio call at twenty past five resulted in rescue vessel Central Coast 21 under command of volunteer Marine Rescue Skipper Bob Sullivan on its way to Lobster Beach to assist a 3.4m runabout with two people onboard. The couple requested help to get back to Lion’s Park at Woy Woy due to a mechanical problem. The long tow to safety was completed just before 7:00pm.
On Sunday, around 2.50pm Central Coast 21 with Bob Sullivan at the helm was sent to assist a 7.0m motor cruiser, with two persons on board that had run out of fuel on the Broadwater near Gosford Sailing Club. The cruiser was towed to its berth at Point Frederick.
Around 5.00pm another late radio call had skipper Anthony Porter and his crew on Central Coast 21 off to the south end of Paddy’s Channel to assist a an 8.4m Compass yacht. The vessel’s crew had radioed for help to get back to Booker Bay. They reported that the wind had died and that they were making no progress under motor power. It was thought that the propeller was fouled or had marine growth and it was ineffective. The late tow made for another late finish for the marine rescue volunteers.
